1. Filming Setup
Location: Brightly Lit Room
•
Ensure the room is well-lit, preferably with natural light. Avoid backlighting to prevent shadows on your face.
Filming Styles:
•
Narration Only: Suitable for subjects that involve discussion
•
Narration + Handwriting: Ideal for subjects involving calculations, such as Maths, Engineering, Physics, and Chemistry. Ensure your handwriting is clean and legible.
Writing and Script Preparation:
•
Draft your transcript on Google Docs and highlight key terms that can be emphasized with effects during editing.
•
Important: The video should not sound scripted. The purpose of pre-writing is to organize content. Feel free to improvise during narration, and adjust the script as needed.
•
Write as much as possible beforehand to make your explanation and writing smooth.
•
If your handwriting is messy, use lined paper for clarity.
Camera Positioning:
•
Face Camera: Align the camera at a horizontal level with sufficient headroom, centered, and at eye level. Example: Proper Camera Angle Example (starting from 0:35).
•
Facing Paper on Table:
◦
Stack a pile of books or a box to elevate the phone 20 cm above the table.
◦
Place the phone facing down on the paper, and use a weight to stabilize it.
◦
Best option: Use a tripod if available.
Filming Applications:
•
Both "Narration" and "Narration + Handwriting" are suitable for "Question Work Through."
•
Only "Narration" is suitable for "Experience Q&A."
Zoom Screensharing:
•
Use this feature if relevant to your subject or teaching style.
2. Filming Process
•
Multiple Shots: It’s okay to film in several shots instead of trying to get everything in one take. GuruMe can merge separate videos into one, making the filming process easier and less stressful.
3. Editing (Handled by GuruMe)

•
You will appear on video, so make sure to look professional—no t-shirts. Dress appropriately for a polished appearance.

Use a phone or laptop camera of good quality (beyond iPhone 6). Ensure the audio quality is clear and free from vibrations or echoes. Example of good audio: Good Audio Example.

•
Start filming only after the written content/script is finalized.
