Welcome to ibGuru. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully as they constitute a binding agreement between you and ibGuru (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Definitions

Platform: Refers to the ibGuru website, mobile application, and all associated services.
•
User: Any individual or entity accessing or using the ibGuru platform.
•
Content: Includes lecture videos, study notes, practice questions, and tests provided through the platform.
2. License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the ibGuru platform for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

Copy, distribute, or modify any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
•
Use the platform for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
3. Free vs Premium Content
The ibGuru platform offers a combination of free and premium educational resources:
•
Free Content: Includes selected study notes and practice questions available to all users without payment. Free content may vary by subject and is subject to change without notice.
•
Premium Content: Currently includes lecture videos, full-length tests, and other subject-specific resources. Access to premium content requires either Chakra credits or a valid subject subscription. ibGuru reserves the right to add new types of premium content or reclassify existing free content as premium in the future, with notice provided where required.
4. Chakra
Chakras are virtual credits that can be used to unlock individual pieces of premium content.
•
Usage: Chakras are deducted automatically when accessing gated content such as lecture videos or tests. Example: 1 Chakra per 5 minutes of video, or 10 Chakras per test.
•
Access Model: Each Chakra unlock provides time-limited or one-time access, as specified during the purchase or access process.
•
Validity: Chakras expire 12 months after purchase if not used.
•
Account-bound: Chakra balances are tied to the user's account and cannot be transferred, exchanged, gifted, or converted into cash or real-world value.
•
Non-refundable: All Chakra purchases are final unless required by applicable law.
5. Subscription
ibGuru offers subject-specific subscriptions that provide unlimited access to all premium content within the selected subject.
•
Included Access: Subscribers can use all premium videos, tests, and resources within the subject without Chakra deductions. The Chakra icon is not displayed for subscribed content.
•
Subscription Term: Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
•
Platform-Specific Billing:

iOS users are billed via Apple In-App Purchase (IAP) and must manage or cancel subscriptions via Apple ID settings.
◦
Web and Android users are billed via Stripe and can manage their subscriptions through the ibGuru website.
•
Cancellations and Expiry: Cancelled subscriptions remain active until the end of the billing cycle. Access is removed once the subscription expires.
•
No Refunds: Subscription payments are non-refundable unless required by applicable consumer protection laws. Refunds for purchases made via Apple IAP are handled by Apple and subject to their terms.
6. User Conduct
You agree to use the platform responsibly and not engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
•
Attempting to hack, disrupt, or compromise the security of the platform.
•
Sharing your account credentials with others or using another user’s account without authorization.
•
Using the platform to distribute harmful or malicious software.
You agree not to:
1.
License, sell, rent, lease, assign, distribute, or otherwise commercially exploit the Content.
2.
Modify, make derivative works of, disassemble, decrypt, or reverse engineer any part of the platform or Content.
3.
Use the platform or Content in a manner that infringes on the intellectual property rights of ibGuru or third parties.
7. Payment Terms
Access to premium content may be purchased through either Apple In-App Purchase (IAP) for iOS users or Stripe for users accessing the platform via web or other non-iOS platforms. Stripe is not used within the iOS app.
•
iOS Payments: All purchases made within the iOS app are processed via Apple’s In-App Purchase system and are subject to Apple’s terms.
•
Non-iOS Payments: Purchases made on our website or other platforms are processed via Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s terms and conditions.
•
Subscription Billing: Subject-based subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Users are responsible for managing their own subscription settings through the appropriate platform (Apple or Stripe).

Refunds:

All payments are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

For purchases made via Apple IAP, refund requests must be submitted to Apple and are handled according to Apple’s App Store policies.

Refunds for Stripe purchases may be requested via our support team and will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

Pricing Changes: We reserve the right to update pricing, features, or payment terms at any time. Where required by law, advance notice will be provided.
•
Acceptance of Terms: By completing a purchase, you agree to the terms and conditions of the relevant payment provider, either Apple or Stripe, depending on the platform used.
8. Intellectual Property
All content and materials available on ibGuru, including but not limited to lecture videos, study notes, questions, tests, designs, graphics, logos, and software (collectively, the "Content"), are the exclusive property of ibGuru or our licensors and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Prohibited Activities:

No Copying or Sharing: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, sell, or otherwise exploit any Content for any purpose without prior written consent from ibGuru.
•
No Commercial Use: The Content is provided solely for personal, non-commercial use. Using Content for teaching, tutoring, or any third-party services is strictly prohibited.
•
No Screen Recording or Downloads: Recording, downloading, or replicating lecture videos, study materials, or any other Content is strictly forbidden.
•
No Redistribution: You may not share, redistribute, or sublicense Content to any other individual or entity.
•
No Derivative Works: You may not modify, create derivative works of, or adapt any Content provided by ibGuru.
Monitoring and Enforcement:
We reserve the right to monitor platform usage to detect violations of this agreement and to take appropriate action, including account suspension or legal recourse.
9. Disclaimers

Accuracy: While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date content, ibGuru makes no guarantees about the accuracy or completeness of information provided, including grading results or explanations.
•
Reliance: Feedback and assessments provided on the platform are for guidance only and should not be considered definitive or a substitute for official academic evaluations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ibGuru shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
11. Account Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at our sole discretion if we suspect a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
12. Modifications to the Platform and Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England for any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
